The Export Genome Data function has now been updated to allow you to export a list of the best proteins sequence hits to all the sequences in a particular genome.
To export best hits to your genome:
- Select Export Genome Data from either the main or organism specific Query drop down menu.
- Select the organism you wish to export best hits from from the Select Organism box (if you came to the export page from the organism specific Query menu then the organism will already be selected)
- Select Similarities to ORFs from the Select Export Format drop down menu
- Enter the number of best hits for each ORF that you would like to export in the Number of Best Hits to Export text box
- Click the Export button
- When the page refreshes, click on the link provided.
Your browser should let you open the link directly or save the file to your computer. Because the size of these files can be quite large, the data file will be in a .zip archive. You will need a program like WinZip or Stuffit to extract the file.
The best hits data is delivered in tabular format. Column headers at the top of the table indicate what is in each column.
