ERGO users have long been able to create groups of genomes that could be used to subset the sequence similarity table on the protein page and to help simplify the views of the large genome listings. Now we've created a tool bar, like the preferred organism bar, that allows you to specify and work more quickly with a group of genomes.
With the organism group bar you can:
- Automatically select the organisms in your preferred group for BLAST searches, pattern matching searches, keyword searches and other major query types in ERGO.
- Quickly set up multi-organism comparison sets using our metabolic overview tree browser
- Compare general sequence and annotation statistics for a group of organisms on our central statistics page
To set up the organism group bar for your preferred group of organism, use the green Configure Menu's Set Organism Group Option to set a preferred group from our existing set of groups or to create your own custom group.
Alternatively, you can use the organism group selection pull down at the top of most ERGO pages and on the protein page above the sequence similarity table to set an established organism group to be your preferred group.
